Final Task: Production diary of filming docudrama scene

Production diary

When filming the docudrama scene, I took photos of different classrooms at the beginning so that I could find the room I wanted to film. Since I want to make my scene more dramatic and give a feeling of more technology, I choose the media room, which has a big screen at the front.

Then I took more photos of this room and try to find a suitable shooting angle. After finding the angle and taking some photos, I started drawing my storyboard. After I finished my storyboard, I went to the teacher to ask for permission to use the room for filming, so I showed the teacher my storyboard and let the teacher know what I was going to do.

After the location was set, I started thinking about how to choose the actors. I needed some students and a teacher to act, so I went to one of my media teachers and politely asked and arranged a date that suited everyone. Then I also asked my classmates if they would like to be my actors. I know they might have their work to do too, so I have to think carefully about my speech so they do not feel like I am forcing them to be my actors. But luckily they all would like to help me with my filming.

On the day of the shoot, I set up the equipment and background before the agreed shoot time to make sure the whole process runs efficiently. When all my actors arrived, I showed them the storyboard, explained the scene and told them what to do again. In the end, it only took me 15 minutes to finish the shoot.

This experience makes me feel more confident about filming in the future, because if I'm well planned and organised, the whole filming process will be much more efficient.
