Reflection of Preliminary Task

With the experience of producing Preliminary Task, I've faced problems, but I've also learn a lot.

In this scene, instead of explaining what's social media, I could refer some quotes about social media or write about the potential and social concerns on media, because everyone know what social media is, therefore I don't need to explain anymore. And also I've put too much content, didn't leave enough time for audiences to read, instead I should split the question into two scene and present to audiences.

The way of presenting the question to audience could be more interesting as well, because the topic of my documentary is about social media, therefore when question appear in centre screen, I could use animation to let the questions been typed on the scree, and when it come to the next scene, I could use notification sound, to give audiences a sense of message

I've also had some problem with music as well, the music I choose gives a feeling of tension and dangerous, which has created contrast with what my interviewee said, this is because I want to use the contrast to telling the audiences the actual dangerous of social media and the dangerous of young people without noticing about it, however, with the feedback I've received, the music doesn't fit with the interview, therefore I might need to consider about music a bit more, and also at the end when my interviewee realised his real screen time is more than he expected, I would put another music which reveals a feeling of dangerous.

The Problems I've faced is that I found really difficult to start edit the Preliminary task as I don't know how to use tools in premiere pro to do and present the result I really want, therefore I've spent a lot of time on searching online of how to do it.

I’ve also had problems with sound problem, during editing, the sound level of background music is too high, therefore it covered the interviewee voice, and also my interview scene’s volume is not the same, sometimes it’s too quiet and sometimes it’s too loud, this is because I’ve filmed the interview with two cameras, and during editing, when I was cutting one of the shot, I’ve cut off the sound as well, therefore the volume will sound different.

The background music has been playing for too long as well, and also my interviewee talked too much to answer the question as well. Therefore I need to make the music shorter and edit what my interviewee said, to let audiences not feel tired. Another issue is my spelling issue, in this scene I spelled ‘positive’ to ‘positives’, next time I avoid silly mistakes happen as well.

In this scene, I had edit issue, and also because the question has shared the half screen with my interview for the whole time, which would cause my question keep flashing, therefore I need to be very careful with exciting.

The last issue is that I’ve got too much interview in my preliminary task, because for the final task, the project has to be maximum 5 mins, and my interview scene has already 3 mins. Therefore in my Final task, I need to have less interview.
